CORVANTA FUELS / PRACTICAL GUIDANCE
Plan the stock. Check the receiving site.
A fuel calculation is one input to a site plan. Storage suitability and safe handling need their own checks.
Source and editorial review: · General education, not a site assessment.
Use stock that is actually usable
Record measured stock, expected operating-day consumption and usable receiving capacity. Compare delivery lead time with the planned operating days. Keep a record of deliveries and withdrawals, and investigate unexplained differences. Do not treat a tank’s nominal volume as the amount that can safely be received or consumed.
Keep the storage system under review
Fuel can deteriorate in storage. Water ingress, deposits, unsuitable connections and poor housekeeping can affect quality. Use a competent person to assess the installation, select suitable equipment and set an inspection and sampling plan. Follow the supplied product safety data sheet and equipment manufacturer’s instructions.
Prepare for handling and unexpected events
Agree who receives the delivery and who checks product identity, connections, capacity and site access. Keep staff trained for the site’s procedures and incident response. If a leak, spill or unsafe condition is suspected, follow the site emergency plan and use qualified assistance. Do not enter tanks or improvise sampling, draining or cleanup procedures.
Confirm local applicability
Tank location, fire protection, environmental duties and permissions depend on the product, installation and applicable local requirements. This guide gives no numerical storage limit or legal clearance. Have the relevant local authority and competent specialists verify the actual site; reading this page does not establish compliance.
